The federation's annual dan examination was held at the central sports hall. The commission included the federation's president, the head coach and an invited international expert.
Thirty-one athletes from all branches across the country presented themselves for the examination. The programme included basic technique, kata, kihon-kumite and a theory interview.
Results
- 1st dan — 14 athletes
- 2nd dan — 5 athletes
- 3rd dan — 2 athletes
- Did not pass: 10 athletes (retake in six months)
The black belt is not an end but a beginning. It means a person has mastered the basics and is ready for real work.
The next dan examination is planned for six months' time. Applications are accepted by the branch coaches.
