A two-day qualification seminar for referees, dedicated to the latest changes in the WKF rules, was held at the central sports hall. It was attended by 34 referees from five branches across the country.
The first day of the seminar was devoted to theory: new criteria for scoring points, the use of video replay and the system of penalties. On the second day, the participants worked on the tatami in real competition situations.
What has changed in the rules
- The criteria for judging kata have been refined, with an emphasis on technical execution
- The procedure for stopping the action in kumite has been changed
- The scope of video replay has been expanded at junior tournaments
The quality of refereeing directly affects an athlete's growth. When scoring is predictable and well-founded, the athlete understands what to work on.
At the end of the seminar, 29 participants received a national-category referee certificate, and five renewed their current qualification.
