Edgar Torosyan

Edgar Torosyan has been training since the age of 12. As an athlete he twice became champion of Armenia in kumite in the −65 kg weight category and competed at the European Championship.

In 2026 he was elected president of the league.

Under his leadership, the league's national team gained the opportunity to travel to tournaments outside Armenia for the first time, and medals were won in the youth age group.

Approach to work

He believes that in modern kumite the decisive factor is not strength but the sense of distance and the speed of decision-making. He builds a significant part of the training on modeling competitive situations.

He regularly undergoes training at the coaching courses of the European Karate League.
